Gregory Boyd and Urban Island Bliuzo Naktys Lithuania 2017 Headliner
There was an amazingly powerful air going in this show. I had to change my band completely on the last minute due to my back up band being held in Norway due to a problem with the flights out of Norway. The original band was the Latvian Blues Band whom I've now toured with several times before since and who are some of the most enthusiastic men I've had the privelidge of performing with for some years now. The idea that they are bluesmen from Latvia moves me but the enthusiasm at with they do is something for every Blues Heart. But this night they could not make it. In walks Cynthia on Bass whom I was blown away by. Igon on Guitar and Peteris on Drums. All of a sudden I was in this other world of Blues meets Steelpan Rock World Music and it was alright by me.
Peace Gregory Boyd

I need a New Computer or Do I.....on E-Waste...Steel Pans....and People
I NEED A NEW COMPUTER
There is something about the term throw away that always bothered me. When I was a child I would watch the garbage men pick-up trash in my neighborhood and wonder how could they do a job like that? They deserve a prize for all athe filth they have to go through in order to bring food home. Yeah It was something tghat truly thought because this was something my folks seemed to drill into our heards that there were people in tehworld were this was thier job they did not have other things they did or perhaps they did but this was thier main job and like any man or woman who does this kind of work is most likely proud of it or at least to a certain dgree deteremined to make it work for them. But there is something inherently awful about trash in general especially when it lands on the door step of a country and for no other good reason the poele have to deal with it. There is a sore that develops on the mind of a person who has to look at this we tend to wonder are that terrible of a species that we allow ourselves to let trash build up in another persons country with out thinking of it what kind of human can we say we are in all of our creatged glory to allow this kind of menace to take place there are some that blame the country the goverment the people environment and other various things but truoth of the matter is we as a human race allow for these things to take place and it is up to us as a human race to make it stop. when one walks through what was once pristine grazing land for healthy cattle and fields once used for food stuffs now completely covered as far as the eye can see of plastic boxes that held at onetime the promise of news age we realize that we stand by and do nothing with respect to a very pervasive problem our promise will in turn be our demise. E-waste in my huble view is the next major human hurdle we must grapple with. It only take moments to look online and see into the lives of people children in many parts of the world who are completely and totally affected by the diseases and sickness caused by the worlds trash. Out of site out of mind.
The problem I have with all of this is that there are young children who are dying of respertory illnesses dying of a myriad of diseases caused by us not thinking. Being careless in our pursuit for the perfect app or the best phone or the most bling for the buck and it is not just in industrialized countries. This is an epidemic of Global proportions and its not stopping at anytime soon. There is some thing about sending a Mars probe up and spending billions on doing so when our human peole suffer under the foot of those decisions. Somehow I beleive that we as humans are wired better than that. We are built of better stuff.
